Ryan Meili is a family doctor, teacher, father and husband, community builder, the MLA for Saskatoon Meewasin, and the Leader of Saskatchewan’s Official Opposition.
Ryan grew up on a farm near Courval, southwest of Moose Jaw, and went on to study at the University of Saskatchewan.
For years, he has worked to build healthier communities all over Saskatchewan and around the world. He is a passionate advocate for smart, fair, and forward-thinking policy that recognizes that we all do better when everyone has a chance to succeed.
He is the author of A Healthy Society: How a focus on health can revive Canadian democracy, the founder of Upstream, an organization that is changing how Canadians view politics and health, and was instrumental in the founding of the SWITCH student-run clinic in inner-city Saskatoon.
Ryan lives in Saskatoon with his wife, Mahli Brindamour – a pediatrician specializing in the care of refugee children – and their two sons, Abraham and Augustin.
