First Call & Upstream

For too long, we have been suffering from
“downstream thinking,” that is, responding
to immediate problems rather than seeking long-
term solutions. Upstream and First Call share a
belief in the importance of preventing ill-health
by addressing the root causes that undermine
child and family well-being.

First Call's annual fundraising gala is an occasion to celebrate our child and youth rights advocacy work with our partner organizations and allies, as well as to raise much needed funds to support our work. We hope you can join us and special guest MC Kathryn Gretsinger for good food, good company, and a dynamic speaker with a timely message. Ryan will be sharing his insights about looking “upstream” to ensure healthy outcomes for BC’s children and youth.
